Tobago is located at the southern end of the Caribbean islands, just a little north of the Venezuelan coast. 11 degrees north of the equator, the island enjoys a sub-tropical climate with a dry season from Dec. - May and a rainy season from June - Nov. The seasonal difference is moderate with an average year round temperature of 28ºC and an average water temperature of 25ºC. Tobago has the good fortune of being situated outside of the hurricane belt. The approx. 50,000 inhabitants speak English. The island's capital is Scarborough, while the country's capital is Port-of-Spain in the island of Trinidad (Trinidad & Tobago form a twin-island Republic, 1.2 million inhabitants).
